The Municipality of Tanauan was endorsed by the National Computer Center Region-8 to compete in the prestigious Philippine Web Awards. The said competition honors the best Filipino-made websites as well as the individuals and teams behind it.

The official website of Tanauan, Leyte has been in the World Wide Web since year 2004. It is the only citizen centric website of the region being a pilot LGU website of National Computer Center Region-8.

Philippine Web Awards awarding ceremony will be on November 23, 2007 at the Teatrino, Promenade, Greenhills.
