The
province of Leyte has been a partner of GTZ in
the implementation of projects which focus on
the priority areas of economic reform, environment,
health and water and waste.
The GTZ is an international cooperation enterprise
for sustainable development with worldwide operations.
It promotes complex reforms and change processes,
often working under difficult conditions. Its
corporate objective is to improve people's living
conditions on a sustainable basis.
GTZ has the corporate form of a "GmbH"
(closed limited company) in the private sector.
It is owned by the German Federal Government.
The GTZ Supervisory Board has representatives
of four Federal Ministries: the Federal Ministry
for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ),
Federal Foreign Office, Federal Ministry of Finance,
and Federal Ministry of Economics and Labour.
Since part of GTZ's funding comes from the Federal
Government of Germany, the Members of the German
Federal Parliament are here to observe the various
projects in Leyte and in Southern Leyte. These
observations and evaluations of GTZ projects are
important in the determination of GTZ budget during
the next budget deliberation in the German Federal
Parliament.

the guests were met by Tanauan Mayor Roque A.
Tiu, Ms.. Evelina Martin who is the Provincial
Planning Officers of the Province of Leyte, PIA
