TANAUAN DADS HOLD SESSIONS
IN DIFFERENT BARANGAYS
Tanauan, Leyte - The Sangguniang Bayan of Tanauan, Leyte holds its weekly session every Monday at the different barangays of the municipality. This is being done in order to bring the government nearer to the people, Vice Mayor Agapito Pagayanan Jr., informed. This is also a fulfilment of an election promise, he intimated. Conducting the sessions in the different barangays will enable the Sangguniang Bayan and the Municipal Mayor, to listen to the concerns of the people in the Barangay. Also, the people in the barangays are also educated on the ongoings in the Sangguniang Bayan.
A very important part of the sessions in the barangays, is the Citizen's Time, Vice Mayor Payanan said. During this part, Mayor Roque Tiu joins the Sangguniang Bayan because most of the concerns could only be answered by the Executive department.

The barangay people are satisfied because their concerns are immediately attended to by the municipal government.

Last week, the Sangguniang Bayan held the 46th regular session at Barangay Cabungaan, one of the smallest barangays in Tanauan Before that, the session was held at Barangay Mohon.
At Barangay Cabongaan, there was a request for certified seeds and irrigation pumps. The Mayor told the requesting parties to go to the Municipal Agriculture Office as there are stocks of certified seeds there. For the request for irrigation pumps, request forms at the Municipal Agriculture Office must be filled up so that the local government will act on it by purchasing the same from the National Irrigation Administration office for loan to the requesting parties. Vice Mayor Pagayanan said that so far, the Sangguniang Bayan of Tanauan has already held session in more than half of the 54 barangays in the municipality.

The people in the barangays where the Session have been held appreciated the holding of the session in their barangays. Many requests from the barangays not yet reached, for the Sangguniang Bayan to hold the session in their respective barangays have been received.
