The month of September 2011 has been one of the busiest months for all municipal officials and employees of Tanauan, Leyte. Recently a tree planting activity was conducted to coincide with the 111th Philippine Civil Service Commission Celebration. It was held in Barangay Sta. Elena, Tanauan, Leyte on September 10, 2011 and participated by all Municipal Officials and Employees including employees of national government agencies based in the municipality such as the BFP and PNP.

The Municipal Treasurer’s Office of Tanauan, Leyte headed by Mrs. Restituta C. Cavite, the Municipal Treasurer, serves as the municipality’s cash manager, maintaining custody of all municipal funds and entrusted with the responsibility for the deposit, and disbursement of these funds and maintains and updates the tax information system. This office also collects all taxes, including auto excise, boat excise, personal property, and real properties, and water or sewer usage.
The office conducts annual tax campaigns in collaboration with other local offices of the municipality like the Municipal Assessor, Municipal Engineering Office, Municipal Planning & Development Coordinator & the Licensing Section. The group goes to the 54 barangays and conduct inspection, assessment of real properties, documentation of animals, issue permits to various establishments who have not acquired permits and collect corresponding fees and other applicable penalties.Â

The Municipal Government of Tanauan through the Local Chief Executive Atty. Agapito P. Pagayanan, Jr. has come up with the improvement and development of website including a webpage focused on Gender and Development.
The training started on the 19th of September and will end on September 23, 2011 at the e-Community Center of Tanauan, Leyte. By virtue of an Office Order signed by the Local Chief Executive, the training is participated by various municipal employees from different offices such as, Eugene Ramos,
PIA-8 officially launches GAD webpage

TACLOBAN CITY, Leyte, Mar 24 (PIA) – The Philippine Information Agency (PIA) Region 8 is set to formally launch its Gender and Development (GAD) webpage, the entryway for gender and development in Region 8, at the Harampang Ha PIA media forum to be held at Gerry Grill today,March 24.
Director Olive Tiu informed that the webpage is in answer to the Philippine Commission on Women’s (PCW)call for all government agencies to give importance to Gender and Development issues.
